RevolutioNice’s vision is to put collaborative construction robots within the purchasing and operating reach of even the smallest construction trade company. RevolutioNice’s primary focus will be on automating certain construction tasks. These robots will be seen as ‘co-workers’ that perform the least desirable aspects of tasks while allowing human workers to be more versatile, creative and productive.
Occupational hazards routinely see construction workers injured or forced to leave the field due to accumulated physical stress. RevolutioNice’s automated solutions will deliver significant labor and material productivity gains and cost savings for construction business owners by improving voluntary and involuntary labor churn as they alleviate the risk associated with hazardous construction activities. This increases the workers’ ability to secure better wages and help reverse the declining number of Americans choosing construction trades as an occupation.
RevolutioNice is headed by Sid Raman, CEO and Bill Tompkins as CTO. The company has acquired the R&D and IP developed by ICE over the past three and a half years and will deliver several of its patented solutions in the painting and drywall trades to the market during the latter part of 2019/ early 2020. ICE had previously been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) Grant. The product developed before, during, and since the SBIR program will emerge shortly as the first RevolutioNice product. To launch its initial product for painting applications, RevolutioNice has formed an active partnership with a large US-based manufacturing company.
RevolutioNice expects to attract additional capital this year in the form of a Seed and Series A round to build out the team, accelerate product development, and support first customer shipments. While the initial focus will be on more traditional construction tasks, the team is simultaneously working on future expansion to accomplish tasks in varying fields that share similar work structures, thus ensuring a wide adoption of the developed IP. “With the IP developed for as many as eight major trades, including painting, drywall installation, remote inspection and repair, concrete and asphaltic repairs and steel erection, we see RevolutioNice making a significant contribution to the nascent field of construction robotics” notes CEO Sid Raman.
RevolutioNice is headed by Sid Raman, a construction industry veteran and serial entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience. About 5 years ago Sid and his business partner Elie felt the need for automation solutions to address safety, productivity and quality concerns. That led to a division within the company that conducted research and development into automation systems that have encompassed products for the construction, health care and exercise and fitness markets.
Conceived four plus years ago to address the construction industry’s lack of modern automation solutions to tackle age-old activities, RevolutioNice has morphed into a full-service automation company that develops and deploys cutting edge technology in various fields, including construction.
RevolutioNice’s original vision has been to put collaborative construction robots within the purchasing and operating reach of even the smallest construction trade company. These robots were to be ‘co-workers’ that perform the least desirable aspects of tasks, such as spray painting, while allowing human workers to be safer, creative and productive in their work.
In this quest, RevolutioNice developed a series of patented solutions including automated building painting and drywall installation systems that are in the process of being adopted into the market.
As we went through our research and development, we realized that the acquired knowledge and ability to rapid-prototype robotics and automation devices could be a resource and benefit other visionaries and presents an opportunity for creative collaborations across both construction and other allied fields.
RevolutioNice has experienced the challenges of successfully building automation solutions which requires both hardware and software to work together. Building solutions for harsh and varying environments such as construction sites and exercise equipment required us to adapt some existing technologies in novel ways and these solutions can pave the way for automation across various fields. Our experience can combine with industry needs in a collaborative way to rapidly design, test and deploy new solutions.
Our talented team has surpassed our original goals and currently we see our research and efforts spreading to a variety of exciting fields .. join us in this exciting future ...
